Elaina M. Kenyon, PhD , DABT, ATS

Dr. Kenyon has spent most of her career as a research toxicologist at the U.S. EPA in Durham, NC, most recently as a principal investigator in the Computational Exposure and Toxicokinetics Branch of the Chemical Characterization and Exposure Division within the Center for Computational Toxicology.

Her research interests are in the general areas of xenobiotic metabolism and disposition, in vivo to in vitro extrapolation (IVIVE) and development and evaluation of physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models.

While at EPA, her research focused on these areas for contaminants of concern in drinking water. She received her doctorate in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1990 concentrating in environmental health and biostatistics, and was a postdoctoral fellow at CIIT from 1992-1995.

Dr. Kenyon currently serves on the Secretaries Science Advisory Board for the state of North Carolina, the editorial board of the journal Toxicology and served on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Toxicology from 2014-2018. She is author/co-author of over 70 publications including peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters. She has been a member of the Society of Toxicology (SOT) since 1990, serving the society in various capacities (presidential chain of the Risk Assessment Specialty Section 2015-19, treasurer of the Biological Modeling Specialty Section 2004-06, and past chair of SOT's Current Concepts in Toxicology Committee 2015-16).
